All National Parks Ranked (So Far…)

Last Updated: October 2, 2024

One of my big bucket list items is to visit every park designated as a “National Park” in the United States. I love our parks so much, but I also like lists. So we’re going to rank all the national parks as I visit them (and write about them). This post will be routinely updated, so be sure to check back on it when I’ve finished a new national parks post.

Keep in mind: this is a completely subjective list. What I find cool and interesting, you may not. In general, I’m biased towards cool geological features. Generally, if all I can do at a park is be on a boat, that will probably rank very low for me. Also, any park that’s main focus is what I call “human history” I will probably overlook. I also tend to enjoy parks that have a large variety of cool little features, rather than one giant feature. But even then, I may like a park that has one giant feature because it’s so novel and surreal to me. You’ll probably find my logic very inconsistent. And there’s a good chance I may change around the order depending on my mood at the time. So this is all to say, please don’t take it seriously! It’s just the opinion of one random lady from NC.

So with the preamble out of the way… onto the list!

1. Guadalupe Mountains National Park

We did it! That’s the whole list! Good night everyone!

All joking aside, I’ve only written about Guadalupe Mountains NP as of right now, so by default it is number one on my list. That isn’t to say this park isn’t deserving of a good ranking, it totally is! This park encompasses an ancient marine system, full of beautiful desert plants, grand peaks, deep canyons and cool springs. This park was a pleasant surprise for me and a fantastic introduction to the Chihuahuan Desert region.
